Landscape Design Concepts

The drawing below shows all of the design concepts
except for texture and smell.

In the picture, Symmetrical means Formal and Asymmetrical means Informal.

Example, If you stand in front of your house standing straight out from the front door.  Draw a imaginary line down through your front door.  If the windows are located and if they are the same size on both sides of that line, your house is formal in design.

If you have more windows or if they are spaced differently on either side of the imaginary line then the house is informal or asymmetrical.

You might ask, why is this important?  Formal designed homes should have the same plants on both sides of the front door to keep the formal design. The plant variety and the plant spacing should be the same.
